RegionARTS | Enhancing SME growth by the integration of artists in ICT projects
RegionARTS is a project co-financed by Interreg Europe - a European territorial cooperation programme conceived to support local and regional authorities in implementing more integrated and sustainable policies.
The project was presented on Priority Axis 2 - Competitiveness of SMEs - with an overall budget of EUR 1,635,670.00, of which EUR 1,341,572.00 are financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
The goal is to influence and improve regional policy instruments in order to favour collaborations among creative talents, artists and the ICT field, which should stimulate innovation processes and enhance the competitiveness of SMEs.
Working on specific policy instruments aims to impact future strategies and operational programmes. The one identified for the Emilia-Romagna Region is POR-FESR 2014-2020 which, within Axis 1 “Research and Innovation”, has designed and created 7 regional clusters: public-private partnerships made up of research centres, universities, enterprises coming together to boost competitiveness and increase their visibility at a European and international level (e.g. Clus-ER Create dedicated to Cultural and Creative Industries).
For 5 years (from June 2018 to May 2023), RegionARTS partners will implement initiatives aimed to improve the efficacy and effectiveness of Structural Funds (or other funds) in partner regions and will design an Action Plan to enhance policies addressing CCIs.
In particular, partners will organize both workshops and study visits to exchange information on best practices and renowned local players and 7 matchmaking events named “ICT meets the Arts”.
Outputs will also consist of 3 booklets for policy makers and institutions with recommendations on this matter and an action plan for each region taking part in the project to concretely affect future policy instruments.
